In most configurations, when an external IR accessory is required to get IR signals to your TV, the Caavo setup process instructs you to use the IR blaster that connects to the 3.5mm jack on the back of Caavo. However, in some setups (such as those where your TV HDMI cable is run through a wall, or the included IR blaster is not long enough to reach your TV) the Caavo HDMI-IR adapter is a better choice. Rest assured it will work just as well with your TV as it will with your source devices!
- Unplug the HDMI cable going into your TV and connect it to the HDMI-IR cable
- Plug the HDMI-IR cable into the TV
- Plug the mating IR cable into the HDMI-IR cable, making sure it has a snug fit, and then point the square transmitter end at the TV's IR sensor.
If IR commands from Caavo (power, volume) aren't working at this point, use the Caavo remote to go to Settings> Devices> [TV name]> Control Settings> Test Control.
