IR Learning Fails

There are a number of reasons IR learning might fail. Re-enter into setup for the devices in which you are trying to set up IR learning and try the following:

  1. Bring the remote you are learning "from" close to the main Control Center device (within a few feet) and point the remote you are learning directly at it. DO NOT point the original device remote at the Control Center remote. The Control Center remote doesn't learn, the Control Center device does.
  2. When prompted to press a button to learn, make sure you simply press and release quickly, as if you were using the button normally. Do not press and hold.
  3. Finally, please make sure your original remote is an IR remote (not an RF or Blutooth BT remote). Try covering the front of your original device remote with your hand and try controlling the device. If the remote still works, it is probably either RF or BT and therefore there is nothing for Control Center's IR to learn.
