Control Center requires an internet connection and can connect to your home network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. We recommend using a wired Ethernet connection whenever possible for best performance, but Control Center will automatically search for a Wi-Fi connection if Ethernet is not available.
To see your current network settings, press the CAAVO button on your remote and navigate to Settings > Network. If you have Wi-Fi available, you'll see the option to Setup wireless network:
Mesh networks are wifi networks that use multiple network access points (APs) to create a broader footprint to cover your whole home/office. Mesh networks are really designed to get a stronger signal to all devices that need to connect to the internet. They can sometimes create problems for devices that need to communicate with other devices over the local network, the way Control Center finds and sends signals to your streaming devices.
If you have trouble finding or controlling a specific device with Control Center, it may be due to routing issues caused be devices connecting to different APs in your mesh network, or if one device is using a hard wired ethernet connection. The best option would be to connect both devices via ethernet connection directly to the main router, but if you must use wifi, make sure they are both connecting to the same AP (preferably the main AP or router).
Note: this section will not apply to most users! If you haven't configured special ports or IP addresses on your home network, then don't worry about these settings.
Control Center uses several ports to check for network connectivity and to communicate with Caavo servers. If you're experiencing network issues, please ensure that the following ports are open and available on your network:
Additionally, ensure that the IP address 188.8.131.52 is not blocked and ICMP needs to be allowed/enabled on your router.
