Control Types

TiVo can be controlled via IR controls. 

Auto Switching

Control Center can detect the following activities on TiVo:

  • Power on
  • TiVo IR Remote operation

If Auto Switching for TiVo is enabled and any of these activities happen, then Control Center will turn on and switch sources to TiVo automatically. 

Basic Controls

TiVo Buttons are mapped to the following Control Center buttons:

You can also customize additional long-press functions. Long press the (9 Dots) button. You can then select a function on the left side of the menu, and press & hold the button you want to assign that function to.

Ring Gesture

Control Center's remote directional pad can also be used as a touch-sensitive gesture button for FF/RW & Skip Forward/Skip Back. This feature is enabled by default for TiVo. Simply rest your finger on the directional pad and move your finger clockwise to FF/Skip Forward, and move it counterclockwise for RW/Skip Back. You can disable/enable this feature by navigating to Settings > [Device] > Ring Gestures.

Deep Linking

Deep Linking on TiVo supports navigating to specific shows or channels, searching DVR listings, and automatically launching to DVR show's detail page.

- Connect TiVo to any available Control Center HDMI port.
- Verify Control Center discovers the newly connected TiVo.
- Verify TiVo is connected to the same network as Control Center.
- Proceed with on-screen steps to set up the new device.
- While in setup, follow the instructions to verify you can control the TiVo with your Control Center remote.
